Marquis Who's Who Honors James W. Greig II for Excellence in Education

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / March 24, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who has honored James W. Greig II, EdD, for his expertise in education. Dr. Greig is a distinguished educator and retired military officer. His career spans nearly five decades and has had a significant impact on the fields of educational and developmental psychology, military training and public service. A noted lifelong problem-solver, Dr. Greig has built a career on professional integrity, strong personal values and authenticity.

Dr. Greig's long career began with service in the United States Air Force. Over 23 years of service, Dr. Greig held numerous key positions that allowed him to develop leadership skills and apply them to education. In one notable role, as the chief of the training division, Dr. Greig was instrumental in developing training programs meant to teach new skills and enhance the innate talents of military personnel. This work required Dr. Greig to overhaul the educational assessment process. He also served as the education adviser at the Defense Contract Audit Institute.

While improving the educational standards within the military, Dr. Greig's methods would also be adopted by other significant organizations, including NASA and the IRS.

When Dr. Greig's military service was complete, he transitioned into civilian roles that allowed him to further develop his expertise as an educator and use his skills to make a difference. He advanced to become the education program administrator for the Defense Contract Audit Agency, implementing programs informed by military training and civilian educational standards. After this, Dr. Greig's next role was as the chief learning officer for Air Mobility Command, where he worked to make sure that air mobility personnel could benefit from the most current and effective educational best practices.

During this time, Dr. Greig also began work as an adjunct instructor at Grand Canyon University, where his expertise in educational and developmental psychology serves to mentor and inspire students. Dr. Greig's pedagogical philosophies focus on empowering students to think critically and engage in their problem-solving.

Dr. Greig encourages students to embrace their own skills, approaches and talents with authentic faith in their ability to achieve excellence. "The most important thing is being true to yourself," says Dr. Greig. "Being honest in your dealings with others and making sure that you're doing the best that you can. It's easy to take the quick and easy route to meet the basic requirements; but if you can do your best job, I think that's what separates you from other people."

Understanding that education is a lifelong project, Dr. Greig also now serves as an assistant district commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America, working to inspire young people and ensure strong community leadership. He is also an active member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Psychologists in Management, among others, where he can work to support peers in his field.

Dr. Greig intends to continue teaching in the foreseeable future while developing his methods and leading the advancement of his field. He is interested in how education can change and evolve, with a particular focus on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in education. He asks the question, "How can we use AI effectively and beneficially without compromising academic standards?" and explores the answers that are being developed by peers in his field.

Dr. Greig has served as a model of authentic effort, self-challenge and continuing growth. Through his mentorship, students and future educators can find a strong example to follow.
