Glacier Psychology Goes Beyond the Surface, Involves Entire Families To Offer Culturally Sensitive, Evidence-Based Treatment to Children and Adults

Glacier Psychology Services is an NY-based practice led by Kayla Nelson, up and running since 2020 with a team of over 10 people.

Glacier Psychology Services has extended an open invitation to anyone interested to reach out and inquire about the best treatment options for their current needs.

Founded in 2020 and led by Kayla Nelson, the NY-based team of over 10 people takes an in-depth approach by going beyond the surface level and focusing on the big picture, including the people and the family surrounding their clients.

“As a team, we understand that every client we work with has an entire life story, filled with people who matter,” the Glacier team stated.

“People who play a role in the bigger picture of the client's life. So, whether these other people - family, friends, children, partners - work with us or not, we want to know all about them. We are all relational/social in our nature. Our greatest wounds come from relational experiences and we heal through positive relational experiences.”

The Glacier team has dedicated itself to deliver culturally-sensitive, evidence-based and personalized treatment to children and families. “We specialize in working with the entire family and have skilled clinicians to meet the unique needs of each member of your family through multiple forms of therapy,” the group pointed out.

Glacier Psychology offers virtual and in-person appointments. Depending on the type of appointment, which can be for individual, couples, families, and groups, meeting lengths vary from 50 to 75 minutes.

The practice covers a lot of ground, focusing both on children and adults. Some of the areas they cover include mood and anxiety, behavioral issues, relationship conflicts, trauma and stress-related disorders, and more.

Explaining how they approach their clients, the company stated, “We begin our therapy journey for each client and family with an in-depth assessment, gathering all relevant information - medical and mental health history, family history, onset of symptoms, social/occupational/education history, etc.

“We then work together to create an individualized treatment plan. Our therapists provide a balance between supportive talk therapy and practical skill building, so that clients leave feeling understood and confident in their ability to manage mental health needs.”
